Globe and a magnifying glass over a chart: web application development
APPS / MAXARIUM

Web application development
A browser workspace for real work.

Web application development covers customer portals, account areas, partner workspaces and internal tools that open in a browser on any device. Maxarium, a separate development company, builds the interface, accounts, business rules and data flows, starting from the work each user needs to get done.

WHAT WE DO

What web application development includes

01

Roles and complete tasks

We agree what each user can see, create and approve, and map each task from start to finish, including empty screens, failed actions and how to recover.

02

Screens and business rules

We prototype the key screens around real tasks and agree checks, approval stages and notifications with the people who run the process.

03

Data, APIs and access

We design the data model and the connections to your existing systems, decide which system is the source of truth for each record and who may access what.

04

Launch and handover

We test every user flow, agree hosting, releases and support, and prepare instructions for administrators and future changes.

What you get

  • An agreed design of the portal or application, with user flows for each role.
  • A working web application connected to the systems you need.
  • Test results, instructions for administrators and a handover plan.
EXAMPLE TASK

What this can look like

Customers email files and keep asking staff for order updates. A portal lets them upload documents, approve steps and see the status themselves, while your operational system still holds the master record of each order.

IS IT A FIT

Who a web application is for

A good fit

  • Businesses that want a customer portal for orders, documents and statuses instead of email threads.
  • Teams that need an internal tool working on any computer or phone without installation.
  • Companies connecting partners or suppliers to their process through a shared workspace.

Not the right fit

  • A site that mostly explains your offer and collects enquiries: that is a business website.
  • Heavy use of the camera, offline work or push notifications in the field: consider a mobile app.
HOW WE WORK

From an idea to a portal people use every day

Each stage ends with something you can check before we continue.

01

Brief and discovery

We agree the users and roles, the main tasks and the systems the application must work with.

02

Prototype

Clickable screens of the main user flows, tried by real users before development starts.

03

Development

Maxarium builds the application in short iterations, with integrations and error handling in every release.

04

Launch and support

Testing, launch, user instructions and an agreed plan for support and further development.

BEFORE WE START

What we need from you

A description of the process and the people involved, examples of the spreadsheets, forms or emails used today, and access to the systems the application must connect to.

Most important: a product owner on your side who decides what goes into each release and gathers feedback from the people who will use the application every day.

What we don’t promise

We don’t promise that people will move to the new portal on their own. Customers and staff keep old habits unless the new tool is clearly faster, so we plan the switch-over with you: invitations, short instructions and closing the old channels step by step.

TYPICAL PROJECTS

Customer portal, account area or internal tool

Most custom web apps we plan fall into one of these groups. Each has its own priorities.

Customer portal development

Orders, documents, invoices and statuses in one place. The usual goal is fewer “where is my order?” emails and calls, and faster approvals from the customer’s side.

Partner and dealer portals

Dealers or suppliers see their own prices, stock and orders and place requests without a manager retyping them.

Internal tools

A browser workspace that replaces a web of spreadsheets: requests, schedules, inspections, production status.

Online services

A service your customers use on their own, such as bookings, calculations with saved results or a small marketplace, often the first step towards a SaaS product.

COST

What affects the cost of a custom web app

We quote from the specification, not from the number of screens.

01

Roles and permissions

Who sees and changes what. A portal where each customer sees only their own records, and staff see everything, needs careful access design.

02

Business scenarios

Each complete task, from submitting an order to approving a document, with its checks, notifications and exceptions.

03

Integrations

Connections to your CRM, ERP, accounting or document storage, and which system holds the master record.

04

Reports and documents

Exports, generated PDFs and dashboards in the formats your team already uses.

05

Security and hosting

Two-factor sign-in, single sign-on, audit logs, expected load and where the application is hosted.

FAQ

Web application development: common questions

How is a web app different from a company website?

A website explains your offer. A web app lets people get work done, such as submitting orders, reviewing records or managing tasks, usually with accounts and permissions.

Can it connect to our current CRM or ERP?

Usually yes. We check the available APIs, access and which system is the source of truth for each record before promising the connection, and include the integration in the plan.

Who builds the web app?

Maxarium, a separate development company that builds apps and games. Monetizator works with you on the brief, user roles and the connections to your current systems.

Do we need an app store?

No. A web application opens in the browser by link, so every user gets updates at once. If you later need push notifications or offline work, a mobile version can be added.

How is the cost of a web application calculated?

From the roles, business scenarios, integrations, reports and security requirements. We quote cost and timing in EUR after the brief and discovery.

Which technologies do you use for web apps?

Widely used, well-supported frameworks, chosen so that another team could maintain the application later. Maxarium proposes the stack in the specification and explains the choice before development starts.
