International SEO services
One website, several countries and languages.
Our international SEO services are for companies selling in several countries or languages. We research local demand in each market, choose the URL structure, set up hreflang so every visitor lands on the right version and plan a phased rollout with results reported country by country.
What our international SEO services include
Market and language priorities
Before adding a market, we compare the audience, your offer, local search demand and whether you can serve customers there.
Local research and content
We base each language version on local terms, questions and expectations instead of translating one keyword list.
URL and language structure
We choose between domains, subdomains and folders and set canonical tags, hreflang and the language switcher so each visitor lands on the right version.
Phased rollout and reporting
We launch a coherent group of pages per market, check the setup and report search results for each country separately.
Who international SEO is for
A good fit if:
- You already sell abroad or plan to enter new countries.
- Your site has several language versions and search engines show the wrong one.
- Each new market gets a translation, but local visitors and enquiries don’t follow.
Probably not the right fit if:
- You serve one country in one language. Local or general SEO is enough.
- Nobody can maintain content and answer enquiries in the new language.
What you get from international SEO
- A market and language rollout plan in priority order.
- Local keyword maps and page requirements for each market.
- Technical requirements for URLs, hreflang and language switching.
- Reporting set up separately for each country.
Multilingual SEO and international SEO: the difference
Multilingual SEO targets languages; international SEO targets countries. They overlap, but they are not the same. Spanish for Spain and for Mexico is one language and two markets, with different vocabulary, currency, delivery terms and competitors.
English is the most common trap: a single English version written for the UK will compete poorly in the US and Australia if prices, spelling, contact details and examples stay British. We decide with you where one version is enough and where a market needs its own.
What affects the cost of international SEO services
Number of markets and languages
Each market needs its own demand research and its own checks after launch.
Current structure
Adding a market to a clean folder structure is simpler than untangling several domains with mixed content.
Who writes local content
Native-speaking editors on your side or writers we brief: this changes the scope a lot.
CMS support for languages
Some platforms handle hreflang and switchers well; others need development. We quote cost and timing in EUR after seeing the site.

How the work runs, step by step
Brief
We learn which countries and languages matter, your current structure and who maintains each version.
Research
We study demand and competitors in each market and check the current technical setup.
Plan
You get a structure decision, a rollout order and briefs for the first pages per market.
Launch and review
We check the implementation, then review each market’s results and decide where to go next.
What we need from you
- Access to Search Console and analytics, ideally set up per country.
- The list of target countries, languages and the offer for each.
- Native-speaking reviewers or translators for each language.
- A contact on the development side.
What we don’t promise. Nobody can guarantee rankings or traffic in any market, so we don’t promise them. We promise a structure that search engines understand, local research and results you can see country by country.
International SEO mistakes we fix most often
- Automatic redirects by IP address, which stop Googlebot and travelling users from seeing other versions.
- Hreflang without return links, or pointing to redirected and non-canonical URLs.
- Keywords translated word for word instead of researched in the local market.
- Two country versions with identical content and no local differences.
- Menus, buttons and forms left in the original language on translated pages.
Hreflang setup: what correct looks like
- Every version lists all its alternates, including itself, and each alternate links back.
- Hreflang points only to live, canonical URLs that return 200.
- An x-default value covers visitors whose language or country you don’t target.
- On large sites hreflang lives in the XML sitemap, so templates stay light.
After launch we crawl every version and check that the tags match what Google reports. Moving a live site to a new URL structure is a migration: we plan it with SEO website migration support and fix the templates through technical SEO.
Entering a new country
A company that sells in two countries wants to add a third. Instead of translating the whole site, we research local demand, launch the ten pages that matter most in the new language and set up hreflang and reporting before adding the rest.
A typical scenario, not a client case.
International SEO: common questions
Should we redirect visitors to their country version automatically?
Better not. Suggest the right version with a banner and let people choose. Forced redirects by IP block crawlers and annoy travellers and expats.
Can one page target several countries?
Yes, if the offer is the same everywhere, for example one English page for all of Europe. A country needs its own page when prices, terms or competitors differ.
Domains, subdomains or folders?
It depends on your markets, budget and team. Folders on one domain are often the simplest to maintain. We explain the trade-offs before you decide.
Is machine translation enough?
Rarely on its own. It can be a starting point, but each market needs local terms, examples and a native speaker’s review.
What is hreflang and do we need it?
It tells search engines which language or country version to show. If you have several language versions, you almost certainly need it, set up correctly on every page.
Do you guarantee top positions in every market?
No. Rankings depend on competitors and search engines in each market. We agree measurable work, such as launched pages, a correct setup and tracked enquiries, and report on it.
What access do you need for international SEO?
Usually Google Search Console, analytics, the CMS or a staging copy, and a list of target markets. We never ask for passwords by email; we agree a safe way to share access.
