Magnifying glass, globe and a rising chart: AI search optimization

AI search optimization services
Get your website found and cited by AI search.

AI search optimization services are for companies whose buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews before they search the usual way. We check whether these tools can reach, understand and cite your website, fix what stands in the way and measure mentions and citations on a fixed set of buyer questions.

WHAT WE DO

What our AI search optimization services include

01

Visibility baseline

We agree the languages, markets and AI tools to watch, record a fixed set of buyer questions and note where your brand is mentioned, cited or linked.

02

Access and page clarity

We check that crawlers can reach and index your key pages and that your services, locations and company facts are stated the same way everywhere. Solid classic SEO is the foundation here.

03

Original, verifiable content

We find missing explanations, sources and real demonstrations, and plan content your company can back up and keep current.

04

Changes and repeat checks

We rank the changes, help implement them and repeat the same set of questions later, keeping in mind that AI answers vary from day to day.

IS IT A FIT

Who AI search optimization is for

A good fit if:

  • Your buyers already ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI answers about your category.
  • Competitors appear in AI answers and you don’t, or AI tools describe your company inaccurately.
  • Your site has expert knowledge that is hard for machines to read or verify.

Probably not the right fit if:

  • Basic SEO problems are unsolved: pages are not indexed or the site is very slow. Start with an SEO audit.
  • You need a guaranteed mention in a specific AI tool by a specific date.
DELIVERABLES

What you get from AI search optimization

  • A documented set of markets, questions and AI tools we track.
  • A technical and factual readiness review, with examples.
  • Content briefs that show which facts and sources each page needs.
  • A follow-up report that separates mentions, citations and actual visits.
HOW IT WORKS

How AI search tools choose which sites to cite

Generative engine optimization is less mysterious than it sounds. AI answers with sources are built from pages the system can retrieve:

  • Google’s AI Overviews draw on Google’s own index, so a page that isn’t indexed or ranks nowhere is rarely quoted.
  • ChatGPT search and Perplexity use their own crawlers (OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot). If robots.txt or a firewall blocks them, you are out of their answers.
  • They prefer pages that answer directly and are confirmed elsewhere: directories, reviews, industry media.

So GEO stands on normal SEO and adds clarity and corroboration on top.

COST

What affects the cost of AI search optimization services

01

Markets and languages

Each market and language needs its own question set and its own checks.

02

Which AI tools you track

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google’s AI answers behave differently, and each adds monitoring work.

03

State of the SEO basics

If key pages aren’t indexed, that comes first, and the project starts with technical work.

04

How much content needs reworking

Clarifying ten service pages differs from restructuring a knowledge base. We quote cost and timing in EUR after the baseline check.

PROCESS

How the work runs, step by step

01

Brief

We agree your priority services, markets and the questions buyers ask before they choose a provider.

02

Baseline

We run the question set across the agreed AI tools and record what they say and which sources they cite.

03

Plan

You get technical and content changes ranked by impact, with clear notes on who does what.

04

Changes and re-check

After the changes go live, we repeat the same questions and compare the answers with the baseline.

BEFORE WE START

What we need from you

  • Access to Search Console and analytics.
  • A list of priority services, markets and competitors.
  • An expert who can confirm facts, figures and examples.
  • CMS access or a contact in the web team.

What we don’t promise. We don’t promise a citation in any particular AI answer. These systems change often and decide for themselves, so nobody can guarantee it. We promise a documented baseline, clear changes and an honest comparison afterwards.

WHAT WE CHANGE

What makes a page easy for AI to quote

  • A direct answer in the first lines, then the detail, not three paragraphs of introduction.
  • Specific facts: who the service is for, where you work, what is included, what it doesn’t cover.
  • The same company name, services and contacts on the site, in Google Business Profile and in directories.
  • Original material: your own examples, data, photos and explanations that other sites don’t have.
  • Clear headings, short lists and structured data (Organization, Service, FAQ) that match the visible text.
HONEST LIMITS

What generative engine optimization can’t do

AI answers change from day to day and differ between users, so nobody controls them. Be cautious with a GEO agency that guarantees a place in ChatGPT or sells llms.txt files as a shortcut.

We can make your site open to AI crawlers, factually clear and well corroborated, and measure the effect on the same questions over time.

TYPICAL SITUATION

A service page AI tools can quote

A service page lists features but never says who the service is for, how it works or what is included. We add a clear scope, a short explanation and a labelled demonstration, then repeat the question set and record what changed in the answers.

A typical scenario, not a client case.

FAQ

AI search optimization: common questions

What is AI search optimization (GEO)?

AI search optimization, also called generative engine optimization (GEO), is work that helps AI search tools such as ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews find your pages, understand them and cite them accurately. It builds on ordinary SEO and adds clear facts, corroboration and regular checks of AI answers.

Does an llms.txt file help?

It’s cheap to add, but no major AI search tool has confirmed using it. We treat it as optional and focus on pages and facts.

Should we block AI crawlers?

Separate the two kinds. Blocking search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot removes you from their answers. Blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot is a separate business decision and doesn’t affect AI search.

Is GEO different from SEO?

It builds on SEO. AI tools rely on pages they can crawl and trust, so technical health and clear facts matter for both. GEO adds tracking of AI answers and content written to be quoted accurately.

Do GEO and AEO need separate pages?

Not by default. We treat them as one piece of work. A separate page makes sense only for a genuinely different buyer task.

Can you guarantee a citation in an AI answer?

No. Nobody can guarantee a citation in an AI answer. We agree work that can be checked: fixes, content changes and repeat observations.

Which AI tools do you track?

We agree this at the start. Usually ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI answers, in the languages and markets that matter to you.

What access do you need for AI search optimization?

Usually Google Search Console, analytics, the CMS or a staging copy, and a list of your key services. We never ask for passwords by email; we agree a safe way to share access.
