Data analytics course for business
Learn to answer a business question with data.
A practical course for founders, marketers and operations teams. You start from a business question, organise a small dataset and build a report whose definitions and limits you can explain.
We’ll agree the tools, format, dates and terms with you in advance.
What you’ll learn
Business questions and metrics
Turn a broad request into a question your data can answer, and agree what each metric counts, over which period and for which decision.
Data quality and preparation
Find missing values and duplicate records, and note every change you make so someone else can repeat your analysis.
Queries and reporting foundations
Work in a spreadsheet, learn basic SQL on a practice dataset, build a small report and choose charts that fit the question.
Interpretation and decision review
Compare groups and periods without jumping to conclusions, then present the result, what the data can’t tell you and what to check next.
You’ll finish with something real
- A list of your metrics, each with a clear definition, and notes on how the data was prepared.
- A small analysis and a dashboard built on the practice dataset.
- A short written summary: what the data shows, what it can’t show and what to ask next.
Example project
The learner analyses an example enquiry-to-order dataset. They define conversion, resolve duplicates, compare periods and create a simple dashboard with a written explanation of what the data can support.
Data analytics course: common questions
Which analytics tool will the programme use?
The final tool choice is not fixed yet. The course teaches metric definitions, data quality and reading results, which carry over to spreadsheets, SQL and any BI tool.
Can our team learn with its own reports?
Yes. In a team course we can work with your own examples once we have settled access and learning goals. Format and availability of the public course will be confirmed before enrolment.
What do you want to learn next?
Tell us about your current skills and the project you’d like to practise on. We’ll let you know when enrolment opens.
